Lisa Long

In addition to her role with the Collective, Lisa works as an Investigative Assistant in the homicide unit at the Fayetteville (NC) Police Department.

Lisa Long is serving the Collective as a Training and Technical Assistance Specialist. In addition to her role with the Collective, she works full-time at the Fayetteville (NC) Police Department as an Investigative Assistant in the homicide unit. She has also worked as an Accreditation and Grant Manager and a Criminal Intelligence Analyst at FPD. Lisa is also an adjunct professor, currently teaching criminal justice and sociology courses at Greenville (IL) University and Methodist University. She has also held adjunct positions at North Carolina A&T State University, Elizabeth City State University and Webster University.

Lisa earned her PhD in criminal justice with a concentration in behavioral science from Nova Southeastern University. Her master’s degree is in Justice Administration from Methodist University. She earned her Bachelor of Arts with a double major in sociology and print journalism from the University of Kentucky. GO CATS!!!

In her spare time, Lisa enjoys working out, playing tennis, tending to house plants and working in the yard. She also listens to all types of music and spends time with family. She is also actively involved in the community. She currently serves as the Vice-President of the board of the Rape Crisis of Cumberland County. She has previously served as a board member for Greater Fayetteville United and the Fayetteville Police Activity League. She is an active volunteer with the Special Olympics of North Carolina Law Enforcement Torch Run and The Fayetteville Police Activity League. Lisa is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society and the Alpha Phi Sigma National Criminal Justice Honor Society.

Lisa has two sons and two stepsons. Her husband Mike is retired from the United States Army and still works or the United States Government.
